He’s always had a passion for reading, starting with romantic novels, and now he’s excited to share his first book, The Insatiable. 1. What inspired you to write ‘The Insatiable,’ and how did the idea for the story come about?
Author: I have always been drawn to exploring the highs and lows in relationships. The belief that our present circumstances are the fruits of our past actions and choices served as a central theme that motivated me to weave the story ‘The Insatiable.’
2. Can you share a bit about your writing process? How did you develop the characters and plot?
Author: As a writer, I always adopt a spontaneous approach to storytelling, allowing my characters to guide the narrative with their innate traits – from their physical appearance to their deepest fears and desires., their emotions and thought patterns. Writing not as an author, but as the characters themselves, enabled me to organically develop both the characters and the plot.
3. Daniele Lucania is a complex character. What was your approach to creating her and her intense emotions?
Author: To create Daniele Luciana, I immersed myself in her emotional world, allowing her experiences to inform her responses, by breathing life into her character which resonated with her raw authenticity. In Daniele, I created a mesmerizing woman, passionate and ambitious, a character who drove the story with a compelling depth and emotional resonance.
4. Leofardo Renzi adds a lot of intrigue to the story. How did you come up with his character and role in the plot?
Author: The handsome Leofardo Renzi was born out of a desire to fulfill Daniele’s incurable amorous propensities. In Leofardo, I envisioned a young man shrouded in an enigma, a catalyst for unexpected twists and revelations, to add a sense of mystery to the story.
5. What challenges did you face while writing ‘The Insatiable,’ and how did you overcome them?
Author: As every story does, ‘The Insatiable’ presented its own set of challenges like maintaining the intricate balance between character development and plot progression. I also faced writer’s block that I overcame by engaging in activities that stimulated my imagination for a cohesive narrative.
6. Are there any real-life events or experiences that influenced the themes and events in the book?
Author: Yes, real-life experiences, my personal observations, interactions, and reflections on human nature and relationships played a crucial role in shaping the narrative. While the story itself is a work of fiction, the emotional depth of ‘The Insatiable’ is inspired by my own imagination of the complexities faced in human relationships.
7. What message or feeling do you hope readers take away from ‘The Insatiable’?
Author: I wish for readers to contemplate themes of love, betrayal, redemption, consequences, and the pursuit of fulfillment and that people in our life, in our relationships, are beautiful and precious and that the uncurbed and insatiable desires could lead us down to a path of devastation and eventually towards a horrific end.
8. How do you keep readers hooked with so many twists and turns? Any tips for aspiring writers?
Author: Remember, surprises are most effective when they are rooted in the characters’ journeys and serve to deepen the emotional stakes of the story. I have aimed to create a sense of suspense that propels the story forward by strategically introducing unexpected plot developments. To aspiring writers, my tip would be to well-rounded characters with motives that drive the story.
9. Which scene or moment in the book was the most challenging or rewarding for you to write?
Author: The confrontation between Daniele and her adult daughter, Laura Veneto has been the most challenging scene for me to write. To capture the emotional intensity in the mother-daughter conversation, I pushed myself to explore deeper into their relationship psyches, to take the story towards a cathartic outburst by Laura that set the foundation of the story.
10. What’s next for you as an author? Can you give us a sneak peek into your upcoming projects?
Author: I am currently working on a theme of romantic mystery that begins in the backdrop of Dal Lake one summer morning when the protagonist, a stunning woman from an elite family encounters a handsome man and what transpires between them will hook the readers and provoke their curiosity to be answered only in the end.
