The story begins in 1987, in the village of Pathri Aali in Jammu and Kashmir. The community of Pastoralists Gujjars, albeit their poverty and differences, dwell happily. But that happiness did not last for long. Soon their safe dwellings became the militants’ lair. The smiles transformed to tears.
