Meet Dinesh Narain Verma, a former Indian Information Service Officer turned author. Dinesh has taken his life experiences and turned them into a treasure trove of stories. He published his first book, My Times My Tales, in 2016, and since then, he has released four books that captivate readers with their unique insights and themes.

From a Career in Government to Writing

Dinesh’s journey began in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where he earned a master’s degree in English and studied law. He started his career as an advocate and, after being selected for the Indian Information Service in 1966, he moved to Delhi where he held different positions in the media wings of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting till he superannuated as Director in the Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity.  He was also a visiting faculty member at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. After retirement, while Dinesh returned to practicing law,  he found his true calling in writing. He always kept a pen handy, jotting down thoughts and stories that eventually led to his published works.

Exploring A Fascinating Trip to Humans Manufacturing Site

Dinesh’s second book, A Fascinating Trip to Humans Manufacturing Site, takes readers on a unique adventure. The story begins with a plane hijacking, transporting characters to a mysterious land where they explore what it means to be human. The book creatively blends fantasy and philosophy, offering an entertaining yet thought-provoking look at human behaviour.

At the heart of this story is a profound question: Why do humans often turn against each other? Dinesh draws inspiration from Ralph Waldo Emerson, who pointed out that while we take for granted the beauty around us, we are quick to question the evils in the world. This theme resonates throughout the book as Dinesh examines the complexities of human nature, suggesting that we all share traits with the animals of the jungle.

The Writing Journey

Dinesh spent about a year and a half crafting this fantasy. He allowed his imagination to roam freely, drawing on his understanding of animal behaviour to shape his characters. The result is a book filled with lively narratives that keep readers engaged from start to finish.

Dinesh’s third book ‘The Blessed Curse’ published recently is the fulfilment of his long-cherished desire to take readers back to years around Independence through interesting anecdotes and stories to let them have the hang of how fore-parents lived under unbearably hard conditions then.

Key Messages

The key message of A Fascinating Trip to Humans Manufacturing Site is simple yet profound: understanding ourselves and others can lead to a better world. Dinesh hopes that readers will reflect on their behavior and the world around them, fostering empathy and compassion.

The book ‘The Blessed Curse ‘offers inspirational life experiences to be shared by young generation of today.
